Located in the region of Sambaina (Central Highlands): in collaboration with the villagers and to welcome our hikers, we realized at the foot of the massif of Ankaratra a lodging of step of traditional architecture in red bricks able to accommodate ten of people (rooms of four with bunk beds) and a camping area with ten tent pitches equipped with mattresses and blankets. The site is equipped with two sanitary blocks with modern showers and toilets.

A living area that can accommodate thirty people has been designed for meals, meetings and teaching time. The lodging of step also has for mission to welcome children of the cities by means of green classes, to make them discover the rural world, to sensitize them to the ecology and the knowledge of their natural and cultural inheritance, framed by Malagasy professionals.

We chose this site because it is the starting point for visitors, hikers and non-hikers, excursions and itinerant circuits inside the massifs of Ankaratra and Vavavato and thus to discover the rural world of these mountaineers. and promote local products from agriculture (visiting villages, meeting with blacksmiths and peasants ...). The undeniable richness of the massifs of Ankaratra and Vavavato are the different animistic pilgrimages (sacred sites) that take place throughout the austral winter (rites and ceremonies).
